Initiatives Developed through Inclusive Excellence program

• Add diversity and inclusion topic to monthly department meetings.
• Create community-building activities in early classes such as FYE and Introduction to Animal and Poultry Sciences. Use peer mentors to facilitate these experiences.
• Establish a Graduate Teaching Assistant position to support undergraduate teaching assistants in understanding needs of diverse student population, and develop workshops for faculty and graduate student training in D&I.
• Develop an undergraduate level grant for student-led D&I projects.
