Inclusive Excellence at Virginia Tech
Building Inclusive Excellence in the Sciences at Virginia Tech
Improving the learning environments for students from underrepresented regions of Virginia and all students in the Virginia Tech sciences. The Summer Institute 2023
May 17-18
The 2023 Summer Institute will bring together the Pathways, First-Year Experience, Inclusive Excellence, and other teaching communities of practice to engage in learning, reflection, and planning all to benefit the work we do for students. This year’s Keynote speaker is Christina Crook, the internationally renowned author of The Joy of Missing Out: Finding Balance in a Wired World. In her keynote, she will share how we can improve our students’ (and our own!) digital well-being by embracing the joy of missing out (JOMO). Lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments provided daily. For any questions, accommodations, etc., please email Evelyn Compton.
The program is sponsored by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
